Amari Beach Quarter

Pattaya

The redesign of the standalone Mantra restaurant at Amari Pattaya involved transforming the space from a food and beverage venue into a flexible meeting and event space, while also adding a new café on the southwest corner facing a newly landscaped lawn. This re-profiling utilized the existing building structure and back-of-house areas to create a functional, cost-effective solution without altering the building’s frame or envelope.

A key architectural objective was to open the building up to its surroundings, taking full advantage of the prime beachfront location. The existing curved northwest corner of the building inspired the design approach for the rest of the façade. By introducing full-height curtain walling, the design maximized views and flooded the internal double-height space with natural light. External “fins” were added to control views and ensure privacy, creating the foundation for foldable external doors throughout, in line with a ‘casual coastal chic’ aesthetic.

The redesign created a welcoming and open environment, with a light, airy exterior and a visible interior, drawing attention from both hotel guests and passing traffic.
